For several years, the Appraiser Qualifications Board was concerned about the lack of online National USPAP Courses that could serve as a “yardstick” when reviewing online USPAP course offerings developed by education providers that are seeking to be deemed equivalent to the National USPAP Courses. There were also concerned about the overall quality of the delivery mechanisms for equivalent online USPAP courses. Accordingly, The Appraisal Foundation (TAF) released a Request for Proposal in 2008 to develop the official online versions of The Appraisal Foundation’s 2010 15-Hour National USPAP Course and 7-Hour National USPAP Update Course. Cengage Learning CompuTaught was chosen as the exclusive developer and provider of the online 2010 National USPAP courses.
The online versions of these courses will be offered through the CompuTaught learning system. Both the 7-hour and 15-hour USPAP courses are available now for any secondary education providers interested in offering The Appraisal Foundation online National USPAP Courses.

As the exclusive provider of The Appraisal Foundation’s 2010 Online USPAP courses, we provide two options for you to offer these courses. You can either (1) be the school of record, or (2) be an affiliate to our state-approved Career WebSchool. Each has its own benefits and revenue sharing structure. The following diagrams depict the required steps for offering the online 2010 USPAP courses through each option.
|
- As the school of record, you are considered a Secondary Provider and are required to obtain International Distance Education Certification Center (IDECC)* approval. Prior to submission of the IDECC application, you must contract with a Certified USPAP Instructor to be your Instructor of Record for the USPAP Courses. PLUS, this instructor must have obtained the Certified Distance Education Instructor (CDEI) designation. See www.idecc.org for details. PLEASE NOTE: Due to the regulatory approval process, plan on 90-120 days from the date you sign the agreement with CompuTaught before we have the necessary IDECC approvals to turn on your USPAP courses for sale through your school.

- As an affiliate to our state-approved Career WebSchool, once you’ve signed the affiliate agreement and joined our Education Referral Network , all you have to do is place the unique identification links on your website. Turnaround is as short as 24hrs.

Frequently Asked Questions |
- Pricing: We offer two pricing structures; standard and tiered. Standard pricing is a fixed revenue share regardless of volume of sales. The tiered pricing requires a two year exclusive contract covering the 2010-2011 USPAP cycle. It provides an increasing revenue share to you over the two year period based on cumulative unit sales during the two-year cycle. Call or email for the details.
- Why is CompuTaught the exclusive provider? CompuTaught won a competitive award from The Appraisal Foundation.
- What are the advantages of being a school? You set the retail price; greater revenue share; private labeled courses in your schools name.
- What are the advantages of being an affiliate? No IDECC or state application fees, instant turn-on.
- If I choose school, why is the process so long ? IDECC and State application approval process is time consuming! If you want to be ready in January, now is the time to sign up.
- How does CompuTaught protect my student enrollments from pirating? We’re celebrating 20 years of offering licensing courses through secondary providers. Our reputation for maintaining the integrity of student enrollments is without question.
- Whether I choose school or affiliate, will I have access to student information? Absolutely, our CompuTaught Management System is the industry best. You’ll have full access to each registration.
- If I am a CompuTaught client already, do I need to do anything? If you are an affiliate no, you'll automatically be offering the USPAP courses when Career WebSchool gets them approved in the individual states. If you are currently a CompuTaught secondary provider, you’ll have to get the 2010 USPAP courses approved through IDECC and your state. Plus, you’ll have to decide on the pricing structure for the 2010-2011 cycle.
